The Process
After an initial meeting to discuss ideas and create initial sketches, we can create more detailed drawings and start to define the costs of the project. We can work together to draw up a brief which outlines your expectations. We can also provide a survey which gives us a better understanding of the building or site.
Once a clear brief has been agreed, we help you apply for planning permission, liaising on your behalf with the local authority. By presenting clear, detailed plans to council officials we help reduce the risk of planning refusal, saving you time and money. Our professional experience also ensures that your project meets a complex range of building regulations.
Having gained planning approval, CSA will find the team you need to make your project a reality. We produce detailed, technical drawings to tender the project to local building firms, who provide an estimate of costs and timings. We also administer a contract between client and builders which sets out terms, timings and what will happen if the project overruns.
Once a builder has been chosen and work is underway, we will monitor progress on site, organise site meetings and help ensure the project is delivered to your specifications.
While some of our clients opt for our full service, others employ us to carry out part of the process. We are happy to offer a ‘permissions only’ service, where our involvement stops once you have statutory approval. Some of our clients prefer to self-build or manage contractors themselves. We are happy to be flexible, recognising that your needs might change as the project develops.
