Manor Farmhouse, South Somerset
A phased restoration
Like many grand farmsteads this one had fallen into disrepair through lack of investment. The main Grade II Listed farmhouse had been badly converted into two for different family members, the attached Listed barn was almost derelict, as was the adjacent workers cottage.
The Practice undertook the restoration for the present owners in four phases. The first saw the farmhouse restored inside and out to become a single family home, together with the structural renovation of the cottage, we returned to carry out a structural renovation of the barn, then again to fit out the cottage as a self-contained unit, and finally, we completed the interior of the barn as a playroom and party space.
