LISTED HOUSE FIT FOR MODERN LIVING
Crickmay Stark were appointed to undertake repairs and alterations to a Listed house, to make it suitable for modern living. The house had a small kitchen, and separate dining room. The basement was damp, the décor and fittings dated (but not historic), and there were numerous other small defects.
Removal of the wall between the kitchen and dining space created space for people to gather, and also gave the kitchen more daylight. With Archaeological evidence from Michael Heaton we were able to demonstrate that the wall was not of historic significance and gained Listed Building Consent for its removal. Consent was also granted for a roof-light to the attic bedroom, a glazed inner door to the semi-basement to admit light whilst preventing draughts, and the other alterations.
The works were undertaken by C.G.Fry
Interior design was by Chloe Lamford and Danny Brown and the kitchen units and much of the internal joinery was by Rex Helston.
