Heatherlands, Uplyme

Helping clients to relax and enjoy their beautifully located home

The owners of this 1950’s detached house in Uplyme sought our help when the roof of their contemporary extension began to leak. On investigation, we discovered numerous problems with the original design and build and worked with a structural engineer and an expert witness to help the clients seek redress from those responsible.

We also worked to make things right, installing a properly insulated warm copper-finished roof, very much in keeping with the original architectural concept, adding new windows and improving technical detailing. Internally the semi-basement gym and changing room were stripped out and refitted to address shortcomings in the waterproofing. The client was able to retain the feel of this imaginatively designed extension while being confident that the building was now structurally sound.
