Grove House

Restoring a country home

Grove House  is an 18th century, Grade II Listed thatched house, with historical links to Nelson and Admiral Hardy. This beautiful building needed to be sensitively updated to meet the needs of our Clients.

Poorly executed 1960’s interventions were carefully removed and the house gently refurbished throughout, including the replacement of the mechanical and electrical installations. The kitchen was made by the in-house joinery team at C G Fry, a local building firm, to our design. We replaced the modern staircase between the main house and service cottage using detailing more appropriate to a back stair in a house of this age. We also added French windows and opened up the landing to create extra living space.

Contemporary fittings combine with carefully restored and period features to create a stunning family home.
